June 23rd is the Pride Date to remember!

14th Annual LBTQ Rainbow Health Fair - save June 23rd!
Join us for a fun, vibrant, active, and informative health fair the Saturday of Pride! It’ll be bigger and better than ever before, at Seattle Central Community College.

1pm – 5pm
Seattle Central Community College
1701 Broadway
Seattle

Peer providers will share their services, including acupuncture, massage, energy healing, Zumba, stretching with Tamara the Trapeze Lady, HIV testing, cholesterol checks, naturopathic consultation, coming out services, mental health education, and a wonderful laughter session provided by our own Ingrid Berkhout. Stay tuned for a comprehensive program overview closer in early June.

The Swedish Breast Center Mammography Coach will join us on-site for no-cost mammograms. Grace Chapman, ARNP, will also be providing pap tests. Eligible individuals for these no-cost services must be income-eligible, and 40 or over. Insurance is also accepted. To schedule your mammogram and pap test, call YWCA Women’s Health Outreach’s Marilyn Calbert at 206.461.4489.

We are so excited to be holding this health fair again this year, bringing back many interactive and critical health services to Rainbow! We’ll have new partners joining us – bringing us dance exercise, financial education, and Healthy Sleep 101 – for the first time ever!
Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more information about different peer providers and their services. Stay tuned!

Stretching techniques taught by Tamara the Trapeze Lady

Who better to learn stretching techniques from but Tamara the Trapeze Lady?  If you have ever seen any of the fabulous Tamara's shows you know that she is flexible, strong and an amazing preformer.  She is joining us for the first time at the Health Fair although she has held fundraisers for Women's Health Outreach in the past.  We can all benefit from techniques she learned in her years of preforming experience that require she be in the most vigorous shape.
Tamara started her aerial education in 1989 with famed Seattle choreographer and inventor Robert Davidson. She has participated in classes and workshops at the San Francisco Circus Center, the Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder, Colorado and Seattle's own U.M.O. Ensemble and continues to explore aerial techniques featuring two point static and single point trapeze, tissu, sling and harness work on rope and bungee. Her movement background includes Ballet, modern and Jazz with a high emphasis on improv.

Benefit for WHO by Tamara the Trapeze Lady Thursday June 17th

FundRaiser for Women's Health Outreach Program with an emphasis on FUN!

We are so fortunate to have the support of incredible performers like Tamara the Trapeze Lady.  Tamara has put together The Broadway Follies for one last marvelous event on Thursday, June 17th and she is donating all profits to benefit the YWCA's Women's Health Outreach program!   Each of her fabulous hand picked performer's will donate a single spectacular act and as always she accommodates the various tastes of her audience members.  We hope you will join us and attend this incredible evening!

We will be attending events and posting them here over the next few weeks that members of the Rainbow Health Fair Committee will be attending.  We will be handing out informational cards, answering questions and reminding people about the upcoming Rainbow Health Fair on June 26th.  We will be easy to find as we share our enthusiasm for our great peer providers and services that are being offered for the LBT (lesbian, bisexual, trans) community.

Thank you for your interest and participation in our program.  We thank Tamara for her continued support of WHO!

In health!
